Racing in the western Solent, the Black Group classes, eventually got their first start at 1305, with IRC Zero and the Cape 31s leading the way.

Joining Class Zero today and racing for the rest of the week is Tony Langley's TP52 Gladiator.

The White Group classes were left patently waiting for the breeze to make its way up to the Squadron line. The line of wind coudl clearly be seen and eventually the AP was lowered at 1400 to be replaced by a single AP, and this quickly prompted the breeze to come in so the first class, the SB20s, got away at 1415.

The Swallows too, racing in Thorness Bay, suffered a longer delay with their first race starting at 1410.

The time limit for today's racing has been changed to 1900 to allow all classes to get a decent race in.
