The good news is that the wind is forecast to fill in from the west to give a stable breeze, which should give a nice window for racing later in the day.

All fleets will be racing in the western and central Solent today, as the south-westerly isn't likely to reach the east until much later. White Group will be racing predominanty in the central area and Black Group likely to be starting around the Beaulieu area and racing to the west. The Swallow class will be racing in Thorness Bay.

The big boats have their eyes on the prestgious Britannia Cup, awarded to the first boat in the faster IRC classes.

It's also Youth Day here and we'll be celebrating the achievements of the younger sailors competing in a wide range of fleets all week.

Be sure to keep an eye on the Cowes Week App for updates.
