At the Squadron line, PRO Phil Warwick allowed extra time for the anticipated westerly to establish. The J/70s got away at their second attempt at 1340, followed by the SB20s, Sportsboat, Etchells, Daring, Dragon and Flying 15, with the breeze eventually proving a little fickle and shy to establish. The remaining fleets in White Group are now under AP to create a bit of a gap between the fleets and allow the breeze to fill back in.
The first committee boat starts are now due to get underway with IRC Zero and the Cape 31s as well as IRC5 planning to start at 1425.
