There are long sunny spells on the water and it’s feeling warmer than yesterday. A band of heavy showers on the mainland is moving towards the Solent, but is not expected to reach Cowes until well after racing finishes.
Tidal conditions for the earlier starts favoured the outer end of the line, but as the east-going stream builds the inshore end is becoming advantaged, producing a great view for spectators on shore.
The first finishers are expected to be the Dragon and Daring classes, with the front runners reaching the Breakwater finish line, that can be seen from Cowes Parade, around 1330. Larger yachts will again finish on the Royal Yacht Squadron line, with the first finishers expected to be IRC Class 1 from around 1415 onwards. The finishing sequences are expected to continue on both lines until around 1600.
