The second day of Lendy Cowes Week is delivering a stunning day of racing in bright sun and a solid south-easterly breeze of 8-10 knots with occasional stronger puffs. Racing for all classes is underway, in the central and eastern Solent, where the wind is at its strongest and most stable. White Group classes were delayed by 10 minutes after the J/70s had a general recall in the first of their three races today.

The first of the larger Black Group yachts will approach the Royal Yacht Squadron’s finishing line from the east just after 1300. The finishing sequence here is expected to continue until 1530-1600.

White Group dayboats will again be finishing on the new Breakwater finish line, which can be seen from shore on The Parade. Again, competitors will approach from the east, with the first finishers in the Etchells and Sportsboat classes also expected shortly after 1300 and the sequence continuing until around 1600.

Today is Family Day at Lendy Cowes Week, a celebration of the many families racing this week. Shoreside activities with a family focus includes 'Starting Sequence', for budding navigators and tacticians run by the regatta's official charity, the 1851 Trust, at their stand on The Parade.
