Following on from its inaugural year in 2017 as title sponsor, Lendy Ltd –the Property Platform is delighted to return to this iconic regatta ready to build on the success of last year.
One visible change visitors to Lendy Cowes Week will notice is the sponsorship of Ladies Day. Lendy Ladies Day on Tuesday 7 August, which honours world-class female sailing talent, is one of the most popular events of the week and this year celebrates its 13th year.
Paul Riddell – Lendy Ltd Head of Marketing and Communications –commenting on last year’s success and the decision to take on this prestigious event said: “Lendy Cowes Week last year was a bit of baptism of fire because we had a lot to activate within six weeks of the regatta. We were determined to put on a good show and make sure we contributed to the event and thankfully we delivered.
“I think it is important that a sponsor strives to celebrate all talent on the water so Ladies Day was the perfect opportunity for us. It is a fantastic way of honouring talent and celebrating it in a party/festival spirit. I hope the partnership enhances what is a great event already at Northwood House and brings some of our spirit to it. Overall we are extremely excited about the event because it shines the light on some fantastic talent.”
Chatting about Lendy Ltd’s other great additions to the event, Riddell said the company was keen to offer more support. “Last year was about brand activation, putting Lendy on the map and promoting a sector that is worth £10 billion in the UK. Although we have launched a new brand called Lendy Wealth this year, and we are keen to promote that, what was important to us was helping to support the event and the charity.
“We have enhanced the shore side entertainment with additional music on the Lendy New Generation stage on The Parade all week. On Wednesday we’ve hand-pick a selection of festival bands, which have all been crowd-funded; that all have a similar peer-to-peer style ethos to us.”
Lendy’s partnership with the 1851 Trust – the event’s official charity – has given them a chance to run sustainability workshops at the Lendy Lounge, and late afternoon on Monday the Lendy Lounge will host an auction with some great lots on offer headed by Nick Bonham the auctioneer.
Riddell was also keen to highlight another new Lendy Lounge feature: “In full view of the public along The Parade, we have brought the Wimbledon-style glass paneled interview room to the regatta with the background, in this case, The Solent. A lot of the celebrity interviews and skippers and crew interviews will take place here.”
Finally, those who need to rest their legs after a tough day on the water, might consider using the free Lendy Pier-to-Pier hopper ferry service that links the four venues and runs from 4pm every day, from Trinity Landing,
