Racing is underway for all classes in glorious warm and sunny conditions with a northerly breeze of 7-11 knots. The first finishers in the J/111 class have already crossed the Royal Yacht Squadron line, approaching from the west, and the remainder of the Black Group fleets are expected to complete their races by around 1530.

The smaller dayboats racing in White Group will finish on the new Breakwater line off Cowes Harbour, approaching from the east. The first boats expected here are the Etchells and Daring classes from around 1315. The finishing sequences are predicted to continue until 1600, although finishers in the later classes to start, as well as those that are having two or three races today, may be delayed if there’s a swing to a sea breeze later this afternoon.
