Today is another glorious day of racing at Lendy Cowes Week, with almost unbroken sun and a perfect south-westerly breeze of 15-20 knots.

Racing for all classes is now underway, including the XODs, which had their first downwind and down tide start of the regatta, setting off from the Royal Yacht Squadron line at a slightly delayed time of 1255. The fleet held conservatively back from the line, with only one boat being called over at the start.

The J/109 class is forecast to be the first of the Black Group classes to finish under spinnaker on the Royal Yacht Squadron line this afternoon, with the leaders expected a little before 1400. The finishing sequence here will continue until around 1500 when the last of the IRC Class 6 and 7 yachts are expected to compete today’s race.

White Group dayboats will again finish on the Shrape line off East Cowes, starting with the Etchells and Daring fleets around 1300 and likely to continue until approximately 1600.
