Today is a slightly cooler day over the Solent with patchy sun. For most of this morning the north-west wind has held up at around 8-12 knots, although it dropped significantly in the central Solent for a short period, prompting the final four White Group classes on the Bramble line to be postponed by 30 minutes. That followed an earlier delay after the RS Elite class was subject to a general recall. The final start, for the Victory class, is now expected to get away at 1325.

Black Group yachts are predicted to start finishing on the Shrape line off East Cowes around 1345, with the FAST40+ class the first to finish. The majority of the White Group dayboats will finish on the Royal Yacht Squadron line, approaching from the west, led by the Etchells fleet at around 1345. The finishing sequence is expected to continue on the RYS line until around 1600, although there is a possibility of some classes having shortened courses.
