This morning’s bright sun has slowly given way to a partially cloudy sky, accompanied by a solid west-northwest breeze of 12-14 knots with occasional stronger puffs. All classes got away on schedule, apart from the XOD, which was subject to the general recall when one third of the fleet jumped the gun.

The majority of the Black Group yachts will finish on the Royal Yacht Squadron line, approaching from the east. The Sigma 33 class is expected to be the first fleet home, a little after 1330, with the finishing sequence continuing right through the afternoon for subsequent classes.

The earlier Black Group classes, however, will finish on the Shrape line, off East Cowes, beginning with IRC Class 4 just before 1300. Today the dayboats in White Group will finish on the Bramble line, starting with the Etchells class, shortly before 1300.
