This morning has seen glorious sun over Cowes and the Solent, but precious little wind.

Although the early morning’s light east north easterly breeze eased and became more fitful there is now sufficient wind and some classes have now started including the Etchells, SB20s, and J/70s. There are still currently however, postponement for most classes but the wind state at the Brambles is now up to 8-10kts.

Race officials, however, are still expecting a reliable sea breeze that will make for great racing conditions later this afternoon. In the meantime, competitors are are taking advantage of the postponement to relax, drink coffee, sun bathe and even swim.
