Each year, Cowes Week Limited (CWL) carefully evaluates the feedback it receives and uses this intelligence to shape improvements to the world class regatta.
Taking information from daily SMS course surveys and the post-event online survey (both conducted courtesy of eDigitalResearch), a debrief meeting with all the one-design classes and other individual review meetings, CWL has a comprehensive overview of the refinements to the regatta that would improve the enjoyment of it by those taking part.
Commenting on the ongoing work to evolve the regatta in accordance with the needs and wants of competitors, Sailing Director, Stuart Quarrie, said: “Each year we spend a lot of time evaluating the areas that we need to improve in order to continue to deliver the world class regatta that people expect. The feedback we receive gives us an invaluable insight into things that have gone well, areas that we need to improve, as well as identifying what people really want from Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week in the future; this information is used each year to help us evolve and refine our event strategy and is fundamental to improving the regatta.”
CWL has produced an action plan to address the main points raised by the 2014 feedback in order to continue to build on the success of the regatta. A summary of the action plan is available here.
