New comers to racing and those who can only make the final Saturday are enjoying an exciting day on the water.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural final Saturday taster day entries have been flowing in all week. This event is aimed at those who have boats rated under the Island Sailing Club Rating System (ISCRS) who want to compete but who are totally new to racing.
Stuart Quarrie, Race Director, commented: “It is very much a part of the regatta. The aim is to give non-racing sailors in Cruiser Divisions A and B a chance to ‘have a go’ in big fleet racing. We tend to set simpler courses and make the whole experience easy.”
As well as the Taster day, the organisers have made it possible for racing sailors who were unable to sign up for the entire week, to race the final Saturday only. This has also been popular with at least five teams in a range of different classes currently enjoying a fantastic day on the water.
It costs just £30 to enter for the last Saturday only, so those who missed the chance this year, it is definitely worth considering next year – 8-15 August 2015.
