Today, Ladies Day, Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week will be welcoming the Olympic legacy project, Fine Art Sails to the event. Fine Art Sails is coming to Cowes Week this year for the first time, aligning World Class Sailing and International Fine Art. Commissioned to renowned artists to create signature original artworks that are painted onto Star Class sails, Fine Art Sails is set to bring an array of colour to The Solent. 

Although many of the Olympians are now in Rio for trials, the line-up for the race consists of up-and-coming Volvo British Sailing Team sailors including Ante Razmilovic who came second at the 2014 Etchells Worlds and Anthony Shanks who has won Star Worlds and was a training partner with Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson in Beijing 2008.

The Fine Art Sails exhibition regatta will take place on the water just off The Green, close to the prestigious Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes.  Ten boats with their elaborate Olympic star class sails will take to The Solent in a fusion display of art and sailing.
