Racing is well underway on the fifth day of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, with the skies having predominantly cleared after overnight rain. As the sun warms the race area the breeze has increased to a solid 12-15 knot west south-westerly and is expected to continue strengthening this afternoon, giving ideal racing conditions.

Black Group yachts will be finishing from the west on the Royal Yacht Squadron line, starting with J/109s, J/111s and IRC Class 4, with the leaders expected at 1415. The first White Group dayboats, in the Daring and Dragon classes, are expected to start finishing on the Shrape line off East Cowes from a little before 1330 until around 1600 for the back markers in the XOD fleet.
