09:00 Tuesday 15 Oct 2013 CWLCowes Week Limited Seeks Volunteer Non-Executive Director

Cowes Week Limited (CWL), organiser of the world’s best-known sailing regatta, is looking for a volunteer non-executive director to join its board.

First established in 1826, Cowes Week is one of the longest-running events in British sporting history and is the largest regatta of its kind in the world. CWL’s board of directors are responsible for the management of the regatta and are focused on its future development in line with the long-term strategy for the event.

Commenting on what the company is looking for and what would be involved with this voluntary directorship over the period of the next three years, Peter Dickson, Chairman of Cowes Week Limited and parent company Cowes Combined Clubs Limited, said: “Our board of directors meets four to six times each year to agree the strategy and detailed plans for Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week as well as to shape the development of the regatta. Experience of Cowes Week, a background in the legal profession and an involvement with the local community are attractive attributes but are not essential to this appointment. We very much look forward to welcoming a new member to our team”.

Applications should be made in writing FAO The Chairman, Cowes Week Limited, Regatta House, 18 Bath Road, Cowes, Isle of Wight, PO31 7QN or by sending an email to admin@aamcowesweek.co.uk before the end of the day on Friday 25 October.
