Afternoon meet-ups to inspire young sailors

GB1's Fanzone at Cowes Yacht Haven

It’s an exciting day here at North Sails Cowes Week for young sailors to meet one of today’s great champions and the next generation of legends-in-the-making.  If you are crewing in the racing come along to these two sessions when you get back on the dock this afternoon.

Ben Cornish, of America’s Cup Challenge GB1, will be signing autographs at the Cowes Yacht Haven this afternoon at 4pm in the GB1 Fanzone.  Rock up and get the selfie! Ben is one of GB1’s two principal helms alongside Dylan Fletcher, and a veteran of two previous America’s Cup campaigns.

Next up, head along to the parade where Katy Jenkins will be the guest at a Q&A session in the Youth Squad Zone. 

Two-times Waszp Ladies National champion, Katy is one of Britain's rising young high-performance sailors and is part of the Athena Pathway programme led by Hannah Mills OBE and Sir Ben Ainslie. Through Athena she is progressing through the British Olympic and professional foiling pathways. 

The Q&As will be a great chance to hear from Katy herself about how she and her fellow young sailors are getting on with their training on the pathway and their goals as they take their sailing talents to even greater heights.
