Yesterday the race committee took the difficult decision to cancel all racing today. Meteorologist Steve Carver explained: ‘We’re expecting wind to build significantly in the next couple of hours, gusts of mid to high 30s, which isn’t raceable for most of the fleets.'
As a result Cowes feels very quiet this morning, although two of the Cape 31s were keen for some two-boat training. Bullit and Khumbu braved the building breeze, but it proved an expensive decision for Khumbu when they lost their spinnaker in spectacular fashion.
Although it's very quiet ashore, as crews enjoy a well-earned lie-in, there's plenty of shoreside entertainment planned, see the schedule here.
