How strong does the wind have to be to cancel racing? On some days this year winds of 40mph + are predicted. It costs my family 40 to come across on the ferry so really want to pick a day when we can see the racing, thanks for your help.

Hi Nicki

The first day of Cowes Week this year looks very windy and whilst it is too early to be definitive there is a risk that sailing will be curtailed that day. It's hard to be specific but Monday looks like a sailing day for sure (at this stage!). There are a couple of big boats racing Monday to Wednesday so that might be a good day to come over. Listen to Cowes Live Radio (87.9fm), that is a good source of data or watch the Cowes TV live on our website from 0900 every day.
I hope that helps and we look forward to seeing you on the island at some stage next week.

Thanks very much for your answer. I will be across in a couple of days.

I'm looking forward to it and will be glued to Cowes radio as usual!
